The Global Tariff Database (GTD) provides bilateral statutory tariff rates for 200 importers and their partners, spanning 34 years (1988–2021). It includes both MFN and preferential tariffs and is based on HS6-level tariff rates (HS88/92 Nomenclature), covering over 6.9 billion observations.
To ensure usability and accessibility, the publicly available versions are provided in aggregated formats. The microdata at the HS6-level are, at this point, not publicly available.
The GTD does not include other types of tariffs beyond MFN and preferential tariffs, such as safeguards, anti-dumping tariffs, or tariffs from the US trade war.
Pair-level and sector-level tariff data are available in .dta
and .csv
formats,
including both simple averages and (contemporary) trade-weighted averages.
